Hi my name is Abby, I am 14 years old and just started breeding dog’s this

year to pay for a car and college. I strive to breed good quality dogs and make all of my customers happy.

I started out by getting my female Lottie Lou two years ago. That’s when we decided we wanted to start a breeding business. One

year later we got my male, Pip. He is the sweetest little pup. All my dogs have been genetically

tested and registered. We do not dock tails. I am a humane breeder and chose not to

dock my puppies tails.

To dock or not to dock

These are some of my reasons why we don’t dock our puppy’s tail’s. My pups (Lottie and Pip) had their tails docked already when I purchased them. But as I researched more, I found that docking tails is unnecessary for these dogs. So why do people dock their tails anyway? Australian shepherds are working dogs, used for herding animals, so if the dog’s tail is on the ground, it could get trampled, and the dog might end up with a tail injury. In my research, this is very uncommon. Some articles even say it was a myth. In today’s age, chances are owners are not using these dogs in this way, so docking their tails serves no purpose.
